“New” e-bike company founded.
Lars Munksoe, a well-known inventor of bike parts - in particular for e-bikes, has announced the start of a new e-bike company as well as a new brand for e-bikes. Lars Munksoe is mainly known for inventing the LED light, which is de facto standard for bicycles today also known as the inventor of the removable battery in the bicycle frame for e-bikes. Lars Munksoe was the first to put lithium batteries on electric bicycles for mass production which is also the de facto standard today.
After having founded Protanium in 2006 and selling the majority of the shares in Protanium to Accell Group NV in 2008, Lars Munksoe has sold his remaining shares of Protanium to Accell Group.
The new company, registered in Denmark as Positive Energies ApS, is independent of any major group and is free to operate and doing business with all groups and companies of the bicycle business.
Lars Munksoe comment: "I have come to the conclusion, that to reach the full potential it is best to be independent of any major player in the bicycle business. To be able to work with any company allow us to bring the best products onto the market".
The business model for Positive Energies is to design and quality control for the production of e-bikes for interested bicycles import companies.
Positive Energies will be offering a complete line of e-bikes including removable batteries inside the frames, with its proprietary new improved inventions.
On the design side, Positive Energies has signed up "top of the line" well-known designers from different fields of design including experienced bicycle designers.
Through its daughter automotive company, Lynx ApS, Positive Energies also offers fully type approved electric vehicles including L1e, so-called High-Speed e-bikes with a cutoff speed of 45km/h.
The official public launch of the new models, including LYNX e-bike brand, will be in the coming China International Bicycle & Motor Fair in Shanghai from the 6th to the 9th of May. However, Positive Energies will be available at the coming Taipei International Cycle Show from the 2nd to the 5th of March, with a prior appointment arrangement.
